Accessibility statement
Every resident has to be able to report a problem.

Our target
Sentra 311 is designed and tested to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA: the resident report page and widget, the resident and worker apps, the public performance page and the staff portal.
The Department of Justice’s ADA Title II web rule uses WCAG 2.1 AA as its standard for state and local government websites and apps, so it is the level an ADA compliant 311 system needs to meet. See our ADA Title II guide.
How we test
- Automated accessibility checks (axe) on every page in our test suite, in light and dark mode, on every release
- Manual keyboard checks: every control reachable, visible focus, no keyboard traps
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1; status always shown in words, never by color alone
- Screen reader names on every control, including icon buttons and map pins
- Pages that reflow at 320 px wide without sideways scrolling; touch targets of at least 44 px
Known limitations
- Maps are visual; every map has a list or text equivalent (addresses, tables)
- Voice input depends on the browser; it’s hidden where unsupported
- Photos uploaded by residents don’t have descriptions
VPAT / ACR
An Accessibility Conformance Report is in preparation through GOVvpat. See VPAT / ACR.
